Luton Town Football is a professional association men's football club located in the town of Luton, Bedfordshire, England, which competes in the Championship, the second level of the English football league system.
'The Hatters' is the only nickname of the club. Luton Town FC is affiliated with the Bedfordshire County Football Association. The club plays its home games at Kenilworth Road, where it has played since 1905.

Founded in 1885, the club became thoroughly professional by making payments to players as early as 1890, the first in southern England to become a professional football club. They joined the Football League close to the 1897–98 season, left in 1900 due to financial crisis, and rejoined in 1920.
Luton reached the top division in 1955–56 and played a major final for the first time when competing Nottingham Forest in the 1959 FA Cup Final. The club was then relegated from the First Division in 1959–60 and relegated twice more in the next five years, playing in the fourth level from the 1965–66 season. However, they back with a promotion to the top tier in 1974–75.
The Hatters' history includes major trophy wins, several financial problems, many promotions and relegations, and some spells of enjoyable success. It was perhaps most eminent between 1982 and 1992. They were a regular member of English football's top level. At that time, the First Division, the club won its first major title, the Football League Cup, in 1988. Luton Town FC has a long-standing rivalry with nearby club Watford.
Luton Town's most recent successful session began in 1981–82 when the team won the Second Division and thereby gained promotion to the First Division. Luton won to Arsenal 3–2 in the 1988 Football League Cup final and remained in the top division until relegation at the 1991–92 season.
Luton Town Football Club has traditionally used the town's crest as its own badge in a manner similar to many other clubs. Their first badge was a white eight-pointed star logo. The club's current logo contains its name "Luton Town Football Club" in capital letter, circling with blue outlined round shape.
Orange and light blue are Luton Town FC's dominant colors at present. They wore an orange shirt, light blue pants, and a pair of orange socks. The club first wore white and black jerseys from 1920 and 1973.

On 2 May 1959, Luton Town reached the 1958–59 FA Cup final, but they lost 1-2 to Nottingham Forest. Luton Town reached the 2009 Football League Trophy Final. The club claimed a 3-2 victory over Scunthorpe United with extra time and won the trophy.

After being relegated from the Championship in the 2008-09 season, Luton spent five seasons in non-League Football. In the 2013-13 season, the club won the Conference Premier, earning promotion back into the Football League. Luton got promoted soon from League Two and League One in successive seasons in 2017-18 and 2018-19. As a result, Luton Town qualified for the Championship again after 2007.
