History of Lyon

Olympic Lyonnais was formed in 1896 as the Racing Club de Leon, which was initially formed under the Multisports Club Lyon Olympic University. The then manager of the club Felix Loot and his team thought of forming their club because there is a lot of internal disagreement in the club about amateur and professional sex.

Louot's plan came to fruition on August 3, 1950, after Dr. Albert Trilot and many others officially founded Olympic Lyonnais. Oscar Heiser was the club's first manager. The first official match of Lyon's history was played on August 26, 1950.

CA defeated Paris-Charenton 3-0 in this match in front of 3,000 supporters. Except for the one-year term, the club retained its place in the first division of the 1953-54 season.
