Preston North End Football Club is England's professional football club. The club is mostly known as Preston, North End, or PNE. The club currently plays in the EFL Championship, the second top-flight of the English league system.

Though Preston was initially a cricket club, its pre-history of the football period starts in 1863 and includes a rugby section before its members began playing football as a winter activity shortly after moving to Moor Park.
