History of Seattle Seahawks

After the amalgamation of the AFL-NFL in 1970, NFL decided to expand the participant teams to 28 from 26. In June 1972, a group of businessmen and community leaders of Seattle thought to start a new franchise in the city.

After several meetings and settlement with the NFL, finally, on 4 June 1974, the Seattle Seahawks established and started to play in the NFL as an expansion team. The franchise was not successful in its first decade.

They first found their success in the season 1998 and then in the next year, when the team won the AFC West division championship. After 2004, the team started to perform well continuously, and they won nine divisional titles, three conference titles, and one Super Bowl championship.
