The Washington Commanders are one of the famous and oldest professional American football teams located in the Washington metropolitan area. The Commanders hold the record of an overall postseason record of 23–18, having won 14 division titles and appeared in 24 postseasons. All of the team's championships were achieved during two 10-year terms.

The team played the NFL Championship six times, winning two of them between 1936 to 1945. The second term lasted from 1982 to 1991, when they made seven postseason appearances, captured four Conference titles, and won three Super Bowls in four appearances.

Burgundy, gold, and white are the predominant color of the Washington Commanders. The Commanders' rebranding in 2022 included new logos and uniforms featuring military-inspired motifs. The primary home uniform remained burgundy with gold and white stripes, with the letters having a gold base.

The team name is placed atop the numbers in front, also gold and trimmed in white. The white road uniform features burgundy and white gradient numbers with black trim and burgundy and white gradient and black sleeve stripes. Both sets are paired with either burgundy or white pants.

The alternate black uniform features the team name on the left chest in gold, and the numbers have a gold base with burgundy trim. Black pants are paired with this uniform with an alternate black helmet having the "W" logo in front and uniform numbers on each side.
