The league will serve as the lower level of the existing UEFA Europa League competition from the 2021–22 season, reduced from 48 to 32 teams in the group section. The lower-ranked team of UEAF member associations is mainly the contestant of this competition.
Competition Format of UEFA Europa Conference League
The Europa Conference League qualifying format is similar to the UEFA Champions League. The qualification to the Europa Conference League will be divided into two-track – the Champions track and the League track.
However, something different from the Champions League, the Champions track will only be completed by teams that could not qualify for the Champions League group level and have been relegated straight into the UEFA Europa Conference League competition.
The knockout format will see eight groups of four teams, followed by the top 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final fight. An additional preliminary knockout section will be played before the last 16 between second-top teams in their groups and the third-top teams of the UEFA Europa League group stage.
The Europa Conference League competition will feature 141 matches over 15 match weeks, and 56 teams will participate.

In a qualifying round match with Spartak Trnava, the first-ever goal in the Europa Conference League qualifiers was scored by Mosta player Evo Ememe Christ on 6 July 2021.
On 14 September 2021, Maccabi Tel Aviv player Stipe Perica scored the Europa Conference League group stage's first-ever goal against Alashkert in the 2021–22 season.
Tottenham Hotspur's star player Harry Kane did the first-ever hat-trick of this competition against NŠ Mura on 30 September 2021.
