History of New York Giants

Founded on 1 August 1925, The New York Giants played their first game in Britain as an away match against All New Britain on 4 October 1925. They won the games against New Britain 26–0 in front of 10,000 spectators. The Giants were successful in their opening season, finishing with an 8–4 record.

The Giants were one of five franchises that joined the NFL in 1925 and are the only one of them still existing and the league's longest-founded team in the Northeastern in the United States.

The American football team incorporated itself as the name of "New York National League Football Company, Inc." in 1929. It changed again in 1937 to "New York Football Giants, Inc." due to the same name issue with a professional baseball team.

The team started to use "New York Football Giants, Inc." as its first official name in 1957, after moving to the San Francisco of the baseball team. But fans and supporters like to call it "New York Football Giants."

The franchise ranks third among all NFL teams with eight NFL championship titles: four in the pre–Super Bowl period in 1927, 1934, 1938, and 1956. And four since the creation of the Super Bowl.
