Dundee United on tv and stream

Dundee United Football Club, locally known as United, is a Scottish football club based in Dundee, Scotland. Founded in 1909, originally as a Dundee Hibernian club, it changed to its modern name in 1923.

United was called Terrors or Tangerines, and fans were known as Arabs. The team has been playing tangerine kits since August 1969 and has played at the current stadium, Tannadice Park, since its inception in 1909.

History of Dundee United

The club was founded as Dundee Hibernian in 1909, playing from the beginning in Tannadice Park (formerly known as Clepington Park), named after a street in Tannadice Street. In 1910, they were elected to the Scottish Football League, where they have remained since. After being rescued from a business exit in October 1923, the club changed its name to Dundee United to extend its application.

Between 1925 and 1932, United was promoted three times between the first and second divisions, capturing the Second Division championship in 1925 and 1929 and the First Division title in 1926. Before the start of the Premiership season, Dundee United hired Tricky Mellon manager Micky Mellon to replace Neilson and started their campaign at home to rivals Tayside St Johnstone, drawing 1-1.

United was relegated by rivals Dundee in 2016 in the Scottish Championship, the second round of the SPFL, before being promoted to the Scottish Premiership in 2020.

In its first season back in the top flight, United finished in 9th place, again playing in the Scottish Cup semi-finals, losing to Hibernian. In May 2021, Mellon left the club and was replaced on June 7 by the Tam Court.

Club Badge and Colors of Dundee United

The United game kit consists of tangerine shirts and black shorts, which were first worn by the team when it competed in the 1967 United Soccer Association tournament under the moniker of the Dallas Tornado. The team got an invitation to participate in the tournament after its first European tour, and the team has won numerous football championships.

After negotiating with manager Jerry Kerr's wife, the color will be officially recognized as a squad member in 1969. It is allowing the club to project a brighter, more contemporary image to the public. In August, the new color was first shown in a pre-season friendly match against Everton.

The club's current badge was introduced in 1993 and saw the previously popular design of the lions rewritten with a new circular logo that incorporates team colors.

To celebrate the club's centenary in 2009, the badge is a special version with the added symbol "1909 2009 Centenary" introduced during the 2009-10 season and an extra green cut on the badge, representing Dundee Hibernian colors.
